Production Bicycles

In 2010, Folk Engineered embarked on a mission - to design a bike for production. In contrast to custom, production bikes are more affordable, designed for an average rider, and built more than one at a time. Our efforts aim to bring bicycle manufacturing back to the US, create artisanal jobs in the city of Newark, and give riders a quality handmade option in bike shops. FE designed the Marsupial from experience riding and designing bikes in our regional habitat. The Marsupial is suitable for our varied terrain of beaches, suburbs, mountains, and dense urban centers. This sport touring bike can be used for many purposes - including commuting, recreation, light touring, and adventure.

Custom Bicycles

Custom Folk Engineered Bicycles are made for you and only you. No two bikes look the same or are the same size. We find it helpful to start with a basic model and then customize the design to suit your measurements, riding style, aesthetic preferences, and personality. This is conveyed through the geometric design and choice of lugs, tubing, braze-ons, components, paint, and overall feel.
